- Inscription: David Viscount de STERN who departed the life 19th Jan 187[?] in the seventieth year of his life. He was the founder of the London House which after many years assumed the name of Stern Brothers and of which he continued the senior partner until the time of his death. He was also one of the commissioners of lieutenancy for the city of London.
