• Other: 1 Nov 1819, Whitechapel; There are detailed accounts in several newspapers of a dreadful fire which took place at Mr Aaron Worms' home. The family name is listed as Oram however the details, address and children's names match with Aaron Worms and family. There was no possibility of escaping the fire no ladders nearby. Mr and Mrs Oram (Worms) and their son aged 17 threw themselves out of a stair window. Mrs Worms was caught by the watchman, their son broke his leg. They called out for their 10 other children. Once ladders arrived seven children were taken out through the windows. However 3 children that did not escape the fire.
